Carbon Footprint Explanation and where RRL is making changes
A Carbon Footprint is a measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of greenhouse gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide.
A Carbon Footprint is made up of the sum of two parts, the primary footprint and the secondary footprint. The primary footprint measures our direct CO2 – Carbon Dioxide
emissions from the burning of fossil fuels, and the secondary footprint measures our indirect C02 emissions from the whole lifecycle of products we use.
- We re-use the plastic casing which is made from approximately 4+ litres of oil.
- We recycle all recyclable plastics used during the remanufacturing process.
- We use boxes that are made from 75%-85% recycled cardboard and the remaining is from sustainable forestry.
- Our boxes also have vegetable based ink which reduces the VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) released into the air during printing.
- We re-use any returned undamaged boxes and recycle any that are returned and damaged.
- All of our waste paper goes to a confidential shredding company and from there the paper pulp is sold to a pulp mill and used to make secondary paper products.
